An icon reborn twice

Build2Sample‘s first original F-Model commission. Produced in 1971, this early 911 is one of the last Karmann chassis, before Porsche started their own production. Originally delivered in Signal Orange, this car went through several stages of modifications. In the 80s, the car was repainted in Bahia Red and widened to meet the newer SC spec. The interior was not spared either in this process. In the 90s, the last owner had a change of heart and reconverted the car to it‘s original look. According to our information, this marked 911 has been sitting in a barn for the last 20+ years. This was until we picked it up and saw its great potential – the perfect opportunity to build a bespoke and yet period correct 911 S/T.

Shortly after work had started, the 992 S/T, a modern interpretation of an air-cooled icon, was unveiled. Its newly developed color, Shoreblue, stays true to the heritage. With the Espresso Commission, we are aiming to reimagine the S/T on the basis of Porsche‘s already reimagined concept – an icon reborn twice.

Technically, this car stays true to the original S/T blueprints. The extensive rebuild of the chassis allowed for a deep dive into period correct modifications. Built fully in metal, and equipped with a fully modified 250 hp carbureted magnesium engine, this car stays true to its original powertrain concept. Luckily, the car still had it’s original 901 dogleg transmission, which was fully rebuilt and enhanced to meet performance requirements. What appears like an uncompromising replica, suddenly turns into a fully bespoke piece of art once you open the door. The interior is specced with elegant leather and carefully selected design elements that create an individual touch while staying in line with our idea of heritage.

Special touring (S/T) is not only an infamous badge, its this commission‘s purpose.
