A wolf in sheep’s clothing

What started its life as a classic Targa in 1979 has now been reborn as a timeless beauty with a beast as its heart. The owner of this commission has always been a fan of the Targa. He has owned a 991 Targa GTS and recently got his hands on a 992 Targa GTS. Based upon the love for the classy look of the modern Targa combined with their spicy GTS performance, the dream of an air cooled 911 Targa GTS arose. Hence the name – Old-Fashioned.

The beauty and the beast, combined in one chassis. Painted in period correct 1967 Slate Grey and built completely out of steel, this Targa appears to be your typical classic F-Model. However, a few details like the upgraded pedal box or the slightly flared arches which allow clearance for the Michelin racing tires, give away some hints. Underneath the engine lid hides a completely rebuilt and upgraded 3.2l engine. Individually casted pistons and camshafts, 48mm PMO racing carburetors, airflow optimised cylinder heads and a few more special adjustments by our engineer have turned this Targa’s engine into a 285 hp beast with an incredibly usable torque curve and an induction noise that make your hair stand on end.

In order to deal with this increase in performance, the chassis was strengthened, and the transmission was upgraded to a G50 transmission with custom gearing ratios. The brakes, suspension and steering were constructed to handle the increased power while keeping the car useable for daily use.

The Old-Fashioned Commission embodies the concept of a 70s 911 Targa GTS. A timeless classic, which is not to be underestimated. A daily driver with the heart of a racer.
